'Egypt not Mohamed Salah’s national team', says Hector Cuper

The winger is in a race against time to be fit for the Pharaoh’s opening tie and the gaffer is upbeat that the team can impress without the forward

Egypt manager Hector Cuper has said that the team does not depend solely on Mohamed Salah.

The Pharaohs open their World Cup campaign with Uruguay on Friday at the Ekaterinburg Arena and the availability of the Liverpool goal poacher is in doubt as he is still recovering from the injury he picked up during the Reds’ Champions League final with Real Madrid.

However, the Argentine tactician is unfazed with the possibility of missing the influential forward in the tie as he hinges the hope of the north Africans on the entire team.
