Monterrey secured their place in the Liga MX final in dramatic fashion as they twice came back from the grips of elimination to beat Club America 4-3 on aggregate.
After a 1-0 America win in the first leg, Monterrey leveled in the 27th minute when Edwin Cardona was on hand to give Monterrey the advantage with a brilliant finish from long range.
The visitors got off to the worst possible start to second half, and Carlos Sanchez squared to Rogelio Funes Mori, who directed the ball past Hugo Gonzalez to put things at 2-1.
However, despite trailing, Las Aguilas clawed themselves back into the game just after the hour mark when Michael Arroyo, just minutes after coming off the bench, scored from a free-kick.
