The Earthquakes added to their defensive depth by acquiring the Dynamo's 2013 Defender of the Year.
The San Jose Earthquakes have acquired fullback Kofi Sarkodie from the Houston Dynamo in exchange for targeted allocation money.
Sarkodie, 25, will be reunited with San Jose manager Dominic Kinnear, who coached the University of Akron product for his first four MLS seasons in Houston.
“Kofi is a good professional, works hard and is versatile,” Kinnear said in a club release. “He can play either side, right or left. He can spell you in the midfield if you need that too.
