The Dos Santos brothers and Mexico's No. 1 from the Gold Cup will not face Lionel Messi and Argentina.
Mexico interim manager Ricardo "Tuca" Ferretti has called 23 players for September friendly matches against Trinidad and Tobago and Argentina, with more surprises about who isn't included in the roster than who is.
The Dos Santos brothers, Villarreal defensive midfielder Jonathan and LA Galaxy attacker Giovani, are not included on the roster. Guillermo Ochoa, the goalkeeper who started for Mexico throughout the 2015 Gold Cup-winning campaign, also is omitted.
