Diego Costa Given 1-Match Suspension, Fine by FA After Everton Red Card Reaction

Chelsea striker Diego Costa has been slapped with an additional one-match ban and a £20,000 fine by the Football Association after admitting a charge of improper conduct in the wake of his dismissal against Everton last month.

“The forward admitted a charge of improper conduct in relation to his behaviour,” read a statement on the Football Association’s website on Friday. “This suspension will follow immediately on the conclusion of the player's current ban.”

Costa was banned for two games following the dismissal, but he will now miss the trip to Swansea City as well as Saturday’s clash with Aston Villa.
