France boss Didier Deschamps has defended Clement Lenglet after the world champions’ 2-1 win over Moldova in Euro 2020 qualifying.
Lenglet was a fault for the opening goal with a poor header that allowed Vadim Rata to go on and score after just nine minutes.
France hit back with goals from Raphael Varane and Olivier Giroud to secure all three points and a place in next year’s tournament.
“Clement knows he made a mistake, it can happen to anyone, he does not have a lot of experience with us yet, it will come in.
