Second-half goals from Fabian Espindola and Alvaro Saborio meant DCU will be in the postseason for the second season in a row.
WASHINGTON — If D.C. United was to clinch a playoff berth, there was no more fitting way to do it.
As has been the case so many times in 2015, DCU fell behind early only to fight back and win Friday night, as Ben Olsen’s men defeated New York City FC 2-1 at a rain-soaked RFK Stadium. It was United’s first win since Aug. 8, snapping a six-game winless streak.
The match started as many have this season for United – with the team conceding an early goal.
