D.C. United 2-1 New England Revolution: Rolfe redemption puts United through

The veteran attacker missed a penalty but scored with less than 10 minutes remaining to put his club into the Eastern Conference semifinals.

Chris Rolfe went from potential goat to sure-fire hero in the course of eight minutes Wednesday, scoring the winner as D.C. United topped the New England Revolution 2-1 to move into the MLS Eastern Conference semifinals.

Juan Agudelo opened the scoring with one of the best goals of the season, measuring up an overhead kick from a Kevin Alston cross. The striker's shot left D.C. United goalkeeper Bill Hamid without recourse and gave the Revolution a 1-0 lead in the 15th minute.
