Dani Olmo’s registration set to expire December 31st, Barcelona could lose him if not fixed

FC Barcelona face the prospect of losing Dani Olmo for free unless they can find a solution quickly, as the player’s license to play for the club is set to expire December 31st.

According to a report in The New York Times, Barcelona cannot rely on player sales to find the space in the wage bill to keep Olmo. That’s because his license expires before the start of the transfer window, and you cannot give a player two licenses in the same season.

It’s unclear what would happen if Olmo’s license expires, and whether he would be able to feature at all in the second half of the season if the deadline is not met.
