Cuauhtemoc Blanco set to play Copa MX final

The Mexican legend's status was in doubt, but he will suit up for Tuesday's cup final.

Cuauhtemoc Blanco could go out with one last trophy, with the retiring Mexican legend cleared to play in Tuesday's Copa MX final against Chivas

The 42-year-old Puebla midfielder plans to put an end to his 23-year playing career that saw him play at three World Cups for Mexico, scoring 39 goals for El Tri. His plans to run for mayor of Cuernavaca put his status for this match into doubt, but he was cleared by the election commission and league officials provided he doesn't perform any sort of campaigning during the match.
