Crotone manager Davide Nicola is putting in the final preparations ahead of an 800-mile bike ride on Friday – honouring a promise he jokingly made to reporters if his side avoided relegation.
The Calabria side were 18th after 30 games and five points from safety, but a fairytale end to the season saw them claim five wins, including a 3-1 victory over Lazio on the final day, to confirm their survival.
Nicola told the media on April 7: “If I save Crotone, I will ride my bike up to Turin.
