Bayern Munich have denied reports linking them with Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo in a post they've branded the "hoax of the day."
Bayern chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge told their official website: "We're used to being the subject of intense transfer speculation during transfer windows. Normally we don't comment on rumours, but in this case, we would like to make our position on Cristiano Ronaldo absolutely clear: This rumour is completely unfounded and must be consigned to the realms of fantasy."
The Bavarian outfit presented the "hoax of the day" via Franz the Bayern duck, their representative in the Bundesliga's annual rubber duck race, as the word "Ente" in German means both hoax and duck.
