The highly anticipated clash between legendary soccer stars Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi will not happen Thursday despite a scheduled friendly between Al-Nassr and Inter Miami.
According to Kyle Bonn of Sporting News, Al-Nassr head coach Luís Castro said Wednesday that Ronaldo will not play in the friendly since he was not fit enough to train with the team and could only participate in individual drills.
Thursday's match was being billed as "The Last Dance" due to the strong possibility that it would have marked the final Ronaldo vs. Messi encounter, as both players approach the end of their careers.
