The midfielder slotted in as a halftime substitute and didn't miss a beat as TFC edged the Timbers at home on Saturday.
TORONTO — It wasn't pretty, but Toronto FC did what it needed to do to ensure a 1-0 victory over the visiting Portland Timbers on Saturday evening.
TFC jumped out to an early lead thanks to a superb long-distance effort from Sebastian Giovinco in the fifth minute of play, and while the home side could have had one or two more goals with a bit of luck, it was the team's work on the defensive end that preserved all three points.
