HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. — Heading into Sunday’s NASL championship, the New York Cosmos were fully prepared for the end of an era. The retirements of Raul and Marcos Senna loomed large, and the Cosmos were ready to move on without their two most decorated and recognizable stars.
Following the final whistle in the title game, the Cosmos now approach that new era with a trophy in hand and the title of “champions” once again etched in the club’s history.
