It wasn’t pretty, but the points in the standings count the same. Xolos were able to overcome a very slow start to pick up a 1-0 win against Correcaminos UAT in Tamaulipas. Henry Martín was the hero with a late goal.
Correcaminos starte the match perhaps the stronger side, keeping Tijuana on their back foot to begin with. In the 13th minute, Xolos did get a good chance on goal when Juan Martín Lucero’s cross had Correcaminos’ goalkeeper David Rambo beaten, but the intended recipient Henry Martín missed the tap-in. Correcaminos striker Nicolás Saucedo had two very good chances in relatively short succession, however Luis Michel was able to save one while the second sailed high of the goal.
