Clément Lenglet is “close” to joining FC Barcelona, says El Partidazo, a show on the Spanish radio station Cadena COPE. Barcelona’s interest in the Frenchman has long been rumored, and the newest report says the player has a 35 million release clause which Barça will pay in order for him to leave Sevilla. An additional 3 million would be paid to Nancy, due to a sell-on clause.
The deal is supposed to be done in the coming weeks and officially announced in June.
Barcelona are in the market for a defender because Yerry Mina is expected to be loaned out, Thomas Vermaelen is getting older, and there is some question as to Samuel Umtiti’s renewal.
