The 2016 Copa del Rey final will be played at Atletico Madrid’s Vicente Calderon, it was confirmed on Tuesday.
According to Javier Giraldo of Sport, the game is set to take place on Sunday, May 22 between Barcelona and Sevilla. The capital venue was chosen with the Santiago Bernabeu unavailable on the same day. The home of Real Madrid is holding a Bruce Springsteen concert.
“They have picked the date knowing Sevilla may be in action on May 18 if they reach the Europa League final once again,” wrote Giraldo.
