Copa America 2016: Colombia stun United States in opener

Colombia grabbed two first half goals as Los Cafeteros earned a routine 2-0 win over the United States in the Copa America Centenario's opening game.

Jose Pekerman's side showed no signs of jitters as they claimed an early lead when Cristian Zapata volleyed home from an Edwin Cardona cross.

Colombia stamped their authority on the game at the stroke of halftime when a penalty was called for a DeAndre Yedlin handball. James Rodriguez stepped up and fired past Brad Guzan to double Colombia's lead.

In the second half, Colombia were forced into a concerning change when James Rodriguez was forced off following a painful-looking fall.
