CONMEBOL has issued a statement after Lionel Messi accused South American football's governing body of corruption, suggesting the 2019 Copa America was rigged in favour of hosts Brazil.
Argentina beat Chile 2-1 on Saturday to finish third in Brazil, but Messi didn't attend the medal ceremony after he was shown the second red card of his career before half-time.
CONMEBOL tweeted a statement (in Spanish) decrying any allegations of corruption in its first-tier continental competition, per Goal's Sacha Pisani:
