CONCACAF Watch: North American clubs flex muscle in CCL group stage

Though the underdogs showed fight, North American clubs put in the best group-stage showing in tournament history, writes Jon Arnold.

For all the talk about smaller teams jumping up to surprise the big clubs, for all the Costa Rican national team victories and the development happening in the Caribbean, the 2015-16 CONCACAF Champions League still showed North American dominance like never before.

For the first time in the eight tournaments since CONCACAF switched from the Champions Cup to the Champions League format, there is no team from Central America or the Caribbean in the quarterfinals of the competition.
