Yet Columbus Crew SC captain Michael Parkhurst couldn’t help but feel as though his team’s campaign was fast coming to a disappointing end after a 3-1 defeat to the Vancouver Whitecaps on Saturday evening. Goals by Andrew Jacobson and Erik Hurtado, both in the final 16 minutes of regulation, sealed Columbus' fate.
“A bit yeah,” Parkhurst said when asked by reporters if it felt as though the season slipped away in the final 20 minutes of the contest.
