The Eindhoven side struggled to break down Atletico's defense and needed goalkeeper Jeroen Zoet to keep the side in the match a number of times in the first leg of its last-16 tie.
But the club held firm even after Gaston Pereiro was sent off in the 68th minute to keepits chances alive, much to the satisfaction of Cocu.
