On Saturday, Club America play hosts to Toluca in their second consecutive weekend at the Estadio Azteca. A 2-0 win over Chiapas to start the season brought America’s first three points of the season, while Toluca edged Atlas for a 1-1 draw.
Versus Chiapas, las Aguilas trudge through the first half, but Darwin Quintero gave the lead to America five minutes into the second half. New America forward Silvio Romero secured the win by landing a shot past the reach of the goalkeeper at the end of the regulation.
The win over Chiapas showed America’s ability to scrap a win together but showed its need to adjust with three new players filling starting positions.
