BALTIMORE — Lest anyone still be wondering about Clint Dempsey’s state of mind on the soccer field these days, his coach and his fellow members of the United States men’s national team spent some of their Saturday night wielding similar gastric imagery to characterize his temperament.
“He’s a guy who is hungry and determined to make big plays, hungry and determined to score goals,” midfielder Michael Bradley said after Dempsey’s three goals had powered the team to a 6-0 rout of Cuba in a Gold Cup quarterfinal.
Midfielder Alejandro Bedoya said: “He has that hunger.
