Chuba Akpom leaves boyhood club Arsenal to join PAOK

Chuba Akpom has left Arsenal for Greek Super League side PAOK Salonika in a permanent move, on a three-year deal.

Akpom joined the Gunners academy aged six and rose through the ranks.

Bereft of first-team opportunities at the Emirates Stadium outfit, he was loaned out to Brentford, Coventry City, Nottingham Forest, Hull City, Brighton and Hove Albion and, recently, to Sint Truiden.

The 22-year-old’s move to Belgium brought six goals in 16 games last season, with the Belgian outfit among a number of clubs circling for his signature, but the Greek side will now have the England-born Nigerian in their ranks.
