Longtime Mexico Women’s National Team coach Christopher Cuéllar has left, according to the Federación Mexicana de Fútbol Asociación (FMF). Cuéllar has coached the Senior National Team since 2019 as well as stints with the U20s and U17s, but faced widespread criticism for the Senior Team’s performances and long periods of dormancy.
Cuéllar started with the FMF in 2005 as an Assistant Coach, and took the reins of the Senior Team in 2019 after the dismissal of Roberto Medina. After taking over, Cuéllar finished in fifth place in the 2019 Pan American Games, losing to Honduras in penalties in the Semifinal Round.
