Chivas secure draw with Necaxa to set up Clasico Nacional quarterfinals

Chivas came from behind to secure a 1-1 draw with Necaxa and set up a Clasico Nacional clash with Club America in the quarterfinals of the 2016 Liga MX Apertura.

On 14 minutes, Necaxa defender Fernando Meza broke down the middle and played a one-two with Jesus Isijara before sweeping in the breakthrough.

Chivas equalized shortly after the half-hour mark. Alan Pulido stepped up to take a free-kick at the edge of the box and sent the ball past goalkeeper Marcelo Barovero.

Edson Puch was then shown a second yellow for a tackle on Jesus “Chapo “Sanchez, leaving Necaxa down to ten-men.
