Chivas coach Matias Almeyda decides to give Jose Juan “Gallito” Vazquez his first start in a Chivas jersey and will pair him up with Orbelin Pineda in the midfield. Nestor Calderon also gets his first start, in place of Carlos Cisneros on the wing. Meanwhile, Carlos Salcedo makes the starting lineup after his appearance was put into question earlier in the week.
Monterrey, on the other hand, will be without Edwin Cardona, who was sent off last weekend, and Dorlan Pabon, who is with the Colombia U-23 team that is headed towards the Rio Olympics. Rogelio Funes Mori, however, gets the start after successfully recovering from an ankle injury that limited him to just 45 minutes last weekend.
