Chivas defeats Club América 1-0 in the first leg of the CONCACAF Champions Cup

Club América faced their first loss in the CONCACAF Champions Cup at the hands of their archrivals Chivas. An own goal in the 77th minute sealed the victory as the Aguilas were unable to get any of their 17 shots in the back of the net. Meanwhile Chivas only registered two shots after 90 minutes in a game where they had a new coach after Oscar Garcia was let go after only 10 games. Now both teams will have two days to prepare for the second round of the Clasico Nacional Saturday night.

América had the first chance of the night after they were awarded a free kick outside of the box.
