Chile not concerned by pro-Mexico crowd at Copa America Centenario

While manager Juan Antonio Pizzi knows the crowd at Levi's Stadium will be cheering for El Tri, he says his team will feel the Chilean public's support from afar.

SANTA CLARA, Calif. — Chile has dealt with it once and will deal with it again, this time in a match that matters.

That is, of course, the green sea of fans that accompanies Mexico in every stadium in North America. So far, Mexico has averaged 68,382 fans in its five summer matches in the United States, two friendly games and three Copa Ameria Centenario group matches.

That includes the final pre-tournament friendly, a match El Tri played against Chile in San Diego, but while Chile is under no illusions about who the sell-out crowd at Levi's Stadium will be supporting Saturday, manager Juan Antonio Pizzi says it won't affect his experienced side in the Copa quarterfinal.
