SANTIAGO, Chile -- Three observations from Chile's 1-0 win over Uruguay in the quarterfinals of the 2015 Copa America.
Chile one step closer to a first competition win
It was a moment that meant so much more than just putting Chile into the semifinal of the Copa America, or any competition, for the first time since 1999.
As Mauricio Isla fired the ball past the flailing Uruguay goalkeeper Fernando Muslera to give his country a dramatic 1-0 win over their nine-man opponent, the shot was so powerful that it was as if it funneled the will of the entire Estadio Nacional and indeed the host country.
