Chicago has added the Senegalese midfielder on loan from MTK Budapest for the rest of the season.
The Chicago Fire have added midfielder Khaly Thiam on loan from Hungarian side MTK Budapest for the rest of the 2016 season the team announced Wednesday.
The Fire have sent a second-round draft selection to the Columbus Crew in exchange for Thiam’s discovery rights. That compensation may change to just General Allocation money if the 22-year old starts at least 12 games this season or if the Fire make the loan permanent.
“Khaly has a wide skill set that we believe will prove complementary to our current group,” Fire general manager Nelson Rodríguez said in quotes published on the team’s official website.
