Barcelona kicked off the knockout stages of the Champions League with a 1-1 draw away to Chelsea in the first leg of their Round of 16 tie. The home team played a fantastic game and deserved a huge victory, but Barça rode their luck and Lionel Messi rescued the team with a huge away goal.
FIRST HALF
Chelsea started the game very well, with a lot of intensity and good play in the first ten minutes. Eden Hazard, Willian and Pedro were roaming all over the attacking third looking to wreak havoc in the Barça defense, and they found spaces to trouble Ter Stegen in goal.
