Charlton parts ways with U.S. defender Onyewu

Championship side Charlton Athletic will not bring back the two-time World Cup veteran, whose contract expires this summer.

It looks like Oguchi Onyewu will be moving on to team No. 12 this summer.

Charlton Athletic announced Tuesday the two-time World Cup veteran will not return to the club after his current contract expires this summer.

The 32-year-old made three appearances (one start) for the Championship side after signing in October.

Onyewu, who hasn't received a U.S. national team call-up since March 2014, has played for 11 clubs over a 13-year career. The center back has logged just 48 matches for seven clubs since leaving Belgian side Standard Liege for AC Milan in 2009.
