Middlesbrough secured the second automatic promotion spot in the Championship on Saturday, while Burnley claimed the title by beating Charlton Athletic 3-0.
Boro drew 1-1 Brighton and Hove Albion at the Riverside Stadium to finish ahead of them on goal difference, meaning the latter will now have to come up through the play-offs. Middlesbrough's promotion ends a seven-year spell in the Championship, per Bleacher Report UK:
