Two late goals gave Manchester United a surprising 2-1 Champions League victory at Juventus on Wednesday despite Cristiano Ronaldo’s scoring a stunning opener against his former club.
Juan Mata tied the score with a free kick in the 86th minute and Alex Sandro put in an own goal in the final minute of regulation time as United blew Group H wide open.
Juventus, which entered the game as the only team in the Champions League with a perfect record, remained atop Group H but is only two points ahead of United. Valencia, which earlier beat Young Boys 3-1, is two points further back.
