Cesc Fabregas' season was brought to an early end on Monday evening after the official adjudged the Chelsea midfielder kicked the ball at a West Bromwich Albion player on purpose.
The Spaniard aimed the ball into a group of players after Diego Costa and Jonas Olsson got involved in a war of words, hitting Chris Brunt on the head before being shown red, per the official Chelsea Twitter account:

Chelsea were trailing the Baggies 1-0 at the time of Fabregas' dismissal, and the playmaker will now miss the Premier League champions' season closer against Sunderland on Sunday.
