Celtic's Europa League place under threat as Sion convinced they will win appeal against exclusion

The Swiss knocked out the Scottish club in the qualifying rounds but were barred from the competition for fielding ineligible players, though they are confident over their appeal

Sion have every intention of competing in this year’s Europa League, and will do everything they can to fight for their place after they were thrown out by Uefa for fielding players deemed ineligible.

The Swiss club faced Celtic in the tournament’s play-offs, and went on to beat the Glasgow side 3-1 on aggregate. However, Uefa ruled the club out of the Europe League because they had fielded players who were not allowed to appear the game due to a transfer ban.
