Club América received some good news ahead of the start of the 2018 Liga MX Apertura. Cecilio Dominguez, who suffered a jaw injury in a friendly against Monarcas Morelia on Sunday, had successful surgery on his fractured jaw and is expected to be available to return to playing fields in just three weeks.
The news comes as a major boost to las Águilas who already lost French forward Jeremy Menez for the season with a torn ACL.
Dominguez has been an important piece for Miguel Herrera’s side in recent months, but injuries have always played major role for the Paraguayan forward since his arrival to América.
