The Women's World Cup Golden Ball winner will release a memoir in the fall of 2016.
Carli Lloyd's ever-expanding media presence is stretching to the written word.
The U.S. national team star, who won the Women's World Cup Golden Ball last month, is writing a memoir that Houghton Mifflin Harcourt will release in the fall of 2016. The untitled book, which also will include an edition for younger readers, will cover Lloyd's career trajectory after she nearly stepped away from soccer in 2003.
Lloyd tied for the World Cup scoring lead after notching six goals during the knockout stage, including a hat trick in the first 16 minutes of the 5-2 win over Japan in the final.
