FC Barcelona midfielder Carles Aleñá is expected to make his loan move to Getafe permanent, per multiple reports. He will cost almost 5 million euro, less than the 8 million the club was hoping for, but still a valuable amount for Barcelona, who are in the middle of an economic crisis.
The 23-year-old came up through La Masia all the way up to the first team, but never was able to hold down a regular spot. He was loaned to Real Betis and then Getafe to gain experience, but now he’s deemed surplus to requirements.
His contract was set to expire next year, and Barcelona were keen on getting some value out of it rather than letting him go for free.
