Sporting Kansas City’s Gianluca Busio is among the 21 players on the U.S. Under-17 Men’s National Team roster for the 2019 FIFA U-17 World Cup. Head coach Raphael Wicky announced his picks to represent the United States in Brazil from Oct. 26 to Nov. 18.
Busio is the most experienced professionally to ever play for the U.S. at a U-17 World Cup with 29 appearances in MLS for Sporting Kansas City and 14 for Swope Park Rangers in USL Championship play. The Greensboro, North Carolina native scored in three straight games from March 30 to April 14, becoming the youngest player in MLS history to score a goal in consecutive matches.
