Brighton striker Murray taken to hospital after serious clash of heads

Glenn Murray has been taken to hospital after a horrendous clash of heads during Brighton's game against Newcastle United.

The Seagulls striker contested a header with Federico Fernandez, and the Newcastle defender inadvertently made contact with the back of Murray's head.

Murray hit the ground, seemingly unconscious, and both his team-mates and opposition players immediately called for treatment to be administered.

Doctors spent six minutes tending to Murray, and he was eventually stretchered off with an oxygen mask over his face.

The 35-year-old was taken straight to hospital, and Jurgen Locadia came on as a substitute to replace him.
