The 44-year-old manager has ended his six-year association with Guingamp to take over the reins at the Stade Matmut Atlantique, replacing interim boss Ulrich Rame.
Bordeaux has announced that Jocelyn Gourvennec has been appointed as the club's new head coach.
The 44-year-old has left Guingamp after six years take over the reins at Bordeaux after the two clubs agreed compensation on Friday.
"The club has found its new coach in Jocelyn Gourvennec," a statement issued by Bordeaux read. "Girondins de Bordeaux have reached an agreement with Guingamp for his arrival."
Bordeaux parted company with Willy Sagnol in March and, although interim boss Ulrich Rame successfully steered the club clear of Ligue 1 relegation, the club has decided to turn to Gourvennec.
