When Bayern Munich annihilated Porto 6-1 at the Allianz Arena and earned a 7-4 aggregate victory to advance to the Champions League semi-finals, there were likely a few smiles in the boardroom of a Bundesliga rival.
Thanks to Manuel Neuer reaching another semi-final of Europe's most prestigious competition, Schalke pocketed a cool €2 million.
According to Eurosport, when the Bavarians captured Neuer back in 2011, a clause was inserted into the deal that Schalke would receive certain performance bonuses based on how far Neuer and Bayern went.
In 2012, the Bavarians coughed up €2 million for reaching the semi-finals and another €4 million for winning the whole thing.
