Former Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu has broken his silence since leaving the Camp Nou and hit back at Joan Laporta in a lengthy open letter to the club.
The 58-year-old has basically defended himself and his board while at the same time criticizing Laporta and his colleagues for their actions (or lack of) since taking over in March.
Bartomeu seems to have blamed everything he can think of for the club’s current difficult financial position. He writes about the “disastrous inheritance that your board left us” back in 2010, mentions the pandemic a few times, and deals he would have signed if he was still in charge and the CVC deal.
