Barcelona goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen is reportedly undergoing stem cell treatment in a bid to return from his knee injury ahead of schedule.
The stopper went under the knife in September and is expected to be out for the majority of the season due to the injury.
However, Diario Sport are reporting that Ter Stegen is undergoing “novel” treatment led by pioneering expert Dr. Robert Soler.
The treatment is said to have a “total guarantee” of success and basically regenerates the ruptured tendons.
Ter Stegen’s treatment process allows him to begin his rehab with “load and endurance work earlier than expected” which potentially shortens his recovery time.
