Barcelona director of institutional relations Guillermo Amor has confirmed the Catalans will not give Real Madrid a guard of honour before El Clasico on Saturday despite Los Blancos recently being crowned FIFA Club World Cup champions.
He explained that Barcelona only provide a guard of honour in cases where they have also been involved in the competition, per Marca: "In this club, the guard of honour is usually made when we participate in the Champions League or La Liga...and this is not the case."
Real were the only European club involved in the 2017 Club World Cup in the UAE after they won the 2016-17 UEFA Champions League.
