When I was eight years old my uncle Orlando came to me and said “kid, you’re so smart, don’t waste it. Read something every day for the rest of your life, and you won’t regret it”. Man, Uncle O was just the best. He was really tall, he was really funny, he was really handsome, and he was the smartest man I’ve ever been around.
I decided to follow his advice and asked my mom to buy some books, but we were poor like most families in Brazil and didn’t have any money to buy books, so I went to the local library and found out I could take books for free as long as I returned them in less than seven days.
